Kolbadi House

The restored 125-year-old Kolbadi House is reminiscent of an 18th-century khan’s palace. Thick walls kept the lower floor warm in winter while the light, bright upper floor could be opened to through drafts for hot summers. Its windows made of wood-framed puzzles of multicoloured glass are supposed to protect the house from mosquitoes.

The Clock Tower

located in the Clock Square (Meydan-e-Sa'at) in the city centre, attracts visitors and has become a famous landmark.
Sari also contains the tombs of the Muslim cleric leaders Yahya and Zayn Al-Abedin, Emamzade-ye Abbas, and Shazdeh Hussein the architecture of which are from the 15th century.

Badab Soort or Badab-e Surt

Badab Soort (Persian: باداب سورت‎‎) is a natural site in Mazandaran Province in northern Iran, 95 kilometres (59 mi) south of the city of Sari, and 7 kilometres (4.3 mi) west of Orost village. It comprises a range of stepped travertine terrace formations that has been created over thousands of years as flowing water from two mineral hot springs cooled and deposited carbonate minerals on the mountainside.

Chalus Road

North of Tehran rise the Alborz mountains, a massive chain including several peaks over 13,000 feet, and Chalus Road snakes its way right through their midst. Approaching from Karaj to the south, the road initially leads through jagged cliffs, then on the north side of the range through endless old-growth beech forests that wolves, lynxes and bears all call home. Then, at last, the Caspian Sea appears on the horizon. How much more can you ask of a road?
Where to stop: The last 18 miles before reaching Chalus, home to the tallest beech trees in the world.
